This category focuses on the best scientific research, either individual or collective, in the field of environment and sustainable development, through which innovative scientific and practical solutions to current and future environmental problems and challenges have been put forward
Eligibility Criteria for The Award Category:
1. Environmental Research Institute:
- Must demonstrate several research successes in environmental sustainability
- Research must directly or indirectly address environmental challenges in the UAE
- The institute must have operated in the UAE for at least five years
- Research programs must undergo assessment and further development
- Assess whether the research institute's approach to managing research programmes and scientific studies is leading-edge/world-class when it comes to delivering outstanding projects/programmes in the field of environmental sustainability
2. Environmental Research Projects:
- The candidate(s) should be the author(s) of the research
- Author(s) must be residents of the UAE (co-authored projects are allowed)
- Applications from co-authored projects are eligible provided all authors are UAE residents
- Priority given to research published in credible journals
- Research must:
- Address environmental challenges in the UAE
- Be published and peer-reviewed, with no more than five years since its first publication
- Show clear impact and practical application on environmental sustainability. The research findings and recommendations can be applied and have a clear impact on environmental sustainability and environmental management in the UAE
