Inspiring greater public participation in citizen science
People of all ages can become citizen scientists and contribute to scientific research in the UAE.
Through Sahim, volunteers and scientists work together on projects that address real environmental issues such as climate change and loss of nature, from the comfort of their homes, backyards or neighbourhoods.
Launched in partnership with Emirates Nature-WWF, Sahim aims to harness the power of community participation and usher in a new era of citizen science in the UAE. Each project is based on rigorous principles of citizen science and contributes to national environmental and sustainability goals.
Citizen scientists will collect useful data on local species and habitats that will contribute to environmental and conservation research, decision-making and policy and regulation.
